MARA Baseball Families:

MARA Baseball is hosting a Hit-A-Thon fundraiser on April 6, and we need your support! The funds raised will replace the batting cages located near Fields 1, 5, 8 and 13. Our cages are well-loved and need improvements. The brand-new cages will feature a turf floor and upgraded netting, mirroring the new batting cage on Field 4. The majority of that upgrade was paid for by the FLEX Softball Team fundraiser.

The Hit-A-Thon is much like a fun run at school. Each player will receive 15 pitches. Friends and families can pledge a certain amount for each pitch that is hit, or donate a flat amount.  

100% of the proceeds will benefit baseball and all donations are tax deductible.

The team in each division that raises the most money will win a pizza party! The team that raises the most money overall will receive tickets to the upcoming Charlotte Knights vs. Norfolk Tides baseball game on Sunday, April 7 at 1:05pm! 

How You Can Help:

• Spread the word! Send the link to your player’s page via email or text or share the link on social media. Tell your friends and family why this fundraiser is important to you!
• Cheer your player on during the Hit-A-Thon! It will be a fun afternoon for the kids and families. The Hit-A-Thon will be held on Saturday, April 6 beginning at 11:30 am at MARA. Players will go to Field 4 immediately following their game for their turn at the plate. If your player does not have a scheduled game on April 6, your player can go to Field 4 at any time to hit.  If your player cannot make it on April 6, a makeup date will be announced soon. 

Baseball Parent, Coach and Sibling Home Run Derby
In addition to the Hit-A-Thon, we are adding a chance for parents, coaches, siblings and friends to participate in a home run derby. For a suggested $25 donation, you will receive 5 pitches. Lines in the outfield will mark a point structure. At the end of the day, the scores will be tallied, and the highest point total will be a winner-take-all all prize pool. The winnings will be credited to the player's fundraising page that you selected when registering. In case of a tie, the prize pool will be split evenly among players.
